*Woburn's Asahel Porter was the first to be Killed on Lexington Green. He was bringing his eggs to market in Boston when he was confronted by the British Column and taken prisoner. He was told he would be release at Lexington Green on condition that he not run, unfortunatly he did panic and broke into a run and he was shot in the back.

* Woburn Militia man Sylvanus Wood, who stood only 5' was the first Colonial to capture a Bristish soldier in the Revolutionary War. The soldier, who stood over 7 1/2' tall in his Bearskin Cap was a Grenadier in His Majesties Royal Lincolnshire Regt. 10th of Foot. named Samuel Lee. who later that day bribed the jailor to let him go and married a local girl and remain in the colonies.

*Woburn's Major Loammi Baldwin led his men in the first successful ambush of the Revolutionary War at what became known as Bloody Curve in Lincoln. The British Column was actually forced to stop and it took them approximately 1/2 hour to break free. The British suffered 8 killed and 10 wounded. The woburn company suffered 1 killed, and 3 wounded.
